The concept of Ecologically Engineered Phytoremediation encompasses TEA’s EnPhySys℠ approach to Phytoremediation, with a dual focus on below ground and above ground environmental benefits offered by Phytoremediation.  TEA has successfully implemented Engineered Phytoremediation Systems in multiple scenarios, and those systems have proven successful for remediation of constituents in the ground water and soil.

Ecologically Engineered Phytoremediation begins with the TEA Team performing a Conceptual Site Model to evaluate site conditions and characteristics.  Species selection is critical to the long-term success and sustainability of a phytoremediation project, so focus will be placed on this critical aspect of the project. With the Ecologically Engineered Phytoremediation concept, root development is directed to targeted areas of the subsurface using the patented TreeWell® Technology, acting as a solar pump, to achieve remediation, and the benefits of developing crown of the trees is tracked to monitor ecological benefits.  Detailed focus on plant health care is given to ensure the maximum growth and sustained health of each tree is achieved.  The ecological benefit of the project area can be calculated to show added value achieved by the phytoremediation system.
